Peep this interview with Grant Brittain by our friends at Skateboarding Japan.
The Step Dad Video, or more formally, Beer Drinkers, Hell Raisers is the product of Jimmy Collins and Joe Radano. The two split the time behind the lens, while Joe took on primary editing duties. The project aimed to capture the nature of skateboarding in Maine. The rugged “spots” that the State provides and the style of skateboarding that evolves from them. During this process, Jimmy and Joe inherently captured the unique personalities and characters that continue to thrive and build the community of skateboarding around them. Beer Drinkers Hell Raisers is a window into obscurity. Proof that with a positive mental attitude and hard work, a thriving skate scene can exist even in the harshest of environments.
Special thanks to Tim Adams at Oxbow Brewing, Phil Engle and Corey McKenna at ReSession Skate Shop, Hella Good Taco’s, DJ HiDuke and lastly, Jimmy Collins and Joe Radano who filmed and edited the project.
